Something has happened to us as a society. It’s not a gun problem; it’s a people problem. People are emboldened to bully and harass others. Social media enables people to hide behind their keyboards and say appalling things to others without repercussions. Mental health is declining across the board and leading people to act foolish. Politics has become a literal battlefield.
Why is this happening? Are parents not teaching manners at home? Are kids not learning to be good citizens in school? Are preachers not teaching love and kindness in church? Are role models not displaying behavior we want our children to emulate? Who is to blame? Where have we gone wrong? How do we fix it? Can it even be fixed?
I don’t have the answers, but I do know that we have to do something before everything falls apart.
