I saw a Facebook post from Loris High School (see below) about their “Trades, Troops, & Textbook Tuesdays!” initiative. Each Tuesday, students and staff are encouraged to wear shirts representing a college, university, trade school, technical program, local business, or branch of the military.
I love that they’re doing this! Success after graduation doesn’t just mean a traditional four-year college. Trades, military service, and other career paths are equally valuable ways to build a strong future.
I didn’t attend college myself because I was busy raising my son. Instead, I pursued professional medical training and worked in healthcare before shifting into a new career path. I started in an entry-level role at a local call center, and through dedication and experience, worked my way up the ladder.
Today, I’m a Senior Technical Account Manager at a global contact center software provider, where I focus on supporting financial institutions, including multiple Fortune 50 and Fortune 500 companies. (Chances are, you’ve called at least one of my customers’ call centers!)
In my role, I consult with companies to streamline operations, improve efficiency, guide them through upgrades and maintenance, and develop solutions for new business challenges.
Over the years, I’ve managed people, projects, and software. Coupled with my data-driven, analytical mindset, those experiences have prepared me to listen, problem-solve, and deliver results. That’s why I’m confident I can serve Loris well as your next City Councilwoman!
