9/11 reminds us of the importance of service and sacrifice. To all of our first responders here in Loris (Loris Police Department, Loris Fire Department, and all who support them) and across the nation — thank you. Today and every day, we honor you, your strength, your courage, and your commitment to our community. 
I’d also like to give a special shout-out to the Loris Civitan Club who puts out American flags downtown and around town seven times a year to commemorate special days like today. Businesses and residents can sponsor a flag for their home or business for $40 a year.
